Positively Creative is a new non- profit initiative designed to bring the art and joy of crafting to children and young adults who are being treated for cancer.
Our team of volunteers personal experiences are the inspiration behind programs we will create in partnership with families, cancer treatment centers, hospitals and other organizations wishing to bring free crafting classes and parties, based on their interests and preferences.
Craft programs are open to imagination and can include:
- Jewelry Making
- Painting
- Collage
- Scrapbooking
- Card Making
- Cookie and Cupcake Decorating
- Doll Making
- Knitting
- Flower Arranging
Positively Creative provides all supplies, and volunteers who bring the supplies to the most convenient location, teach the classes or host the parties, help participants package their work, and clean up.
We are open to any size group, from individual one-on-one crafting to families, neighborhoods, community centers, and other non-profit organizations. Simply contact us to learn more and plan your Positively Creative craft event!

We’re a small team but we’d love to grow and are looking for like-minded people to help by teaching, donating crafting supplies, donating gift cards to craft stores, and sharing our story with others. We are not yet a 501c3 registered non-profit, so donations are not tax deductible. We are applying for IRS non-profit status in the future.

Our Founder

Erin Wittig
CEO
Inspiration, belief and desire led me to the formation of Positively Creative. Our non-profit organization specializes in bringing smiles and creative exploration to kids whose daily lives may not always begin or end with positivity, but whose pure drive to love and laugh needs to be served.
These children are the ones dealing with the daily battle of cancer.
My name is Erin Wittig, Founder of Positively Creative. This project has been my desire for many years and now is being brought to light. My goal is simple: to bring a therapeutic approach to children through fun and creative projects.
This is something that is core to me, and precious, something I’ve personally enjoyed since I was a young adult.
I used creative projects, thanks to my mother, Judith Wittig, to help me cope with an illness. The impact this had on my life is unexplainable. The mere presence of doing something creative brought me through hard times.
Doing creative projects has always been a passion, even in my teaching career. Teaching special education teacher for 7 years, in the inner city, has taught me many valuable lessons.
The first; never underestimate someone’s ability. The second; sometimes all one needs is a little boost of happiness. Creativity had brought my students and myself happiness, so why not others?
Please join us in bringing happiness, peace of mind, fun, and creativity to kids and young adults struggling with cancer. Please help us bring them a few hours of joy to young people whose daily battles far exceed mine, and probably yours.
Thank you and I hope you are able to be a part of this amazing journey!
With love,
Erin
Our Team
Positively Creative is the dream of Erin Wittig, whose family has been active in cancer research and treatment, and whose own lives have been touched by cancer. Erin was joined by Kristin Sheerin, whose daughter is continuing to battle sarcoma, and who is also part of the Positively Creative team, bringing her expertise in the culinary arts to our cookie and cupcake making events.
